FAQ
What is Storefront?
Storefront glazing is typically referred to as glass set inside custom fabricated metal framing, including the doors. Most exterior applications also include panic and added security hardware. While the heavy security hardware is generally handled by LV/Security Vendors, our team is responsible for assisting in the layout through our installed frames.
What are Tenant Improvements?
The vast majority of tenant improvements are comprised of herculite (glass) doors with sidelites of glass installed into glazing channel. Many also are wood doors (by others) with sidelite framing that our team glazes.

How does the training program work?
From day one, all new team members are shown how to both mobilize glass AND
how to correctly break glass, both in the safest manner possible. This is the most
critical part of training as it not only affords new - and experienced- glaziers an
opportunity to get comfortable with the work but also get to know their team that
they will be working with.

Most new glaziers spend the first few weeks mastering glass movement- including
setting the glass, how to properly tie it off, gasketing and caulking. Once the glazier
is comfortable with these skills, they move on to building doors with hardware to
learning how to install headers and channel. Training goes at the glaziers pace with
a company goal that each individual can one day run their own projects.
Desert Ridge Glass also has an in-house certified MEWP trainer. These classes are held annually and as needed based upon the size of the class. We also incorporate safety training such as fall protection, CPR and first aid, and more. Our crews provide the input needed to direct each "Safety Training Day" based on what they feel is most important to them.
During the times that we may be waiting on materials to arrive for projects, we utilize this "shop time" for training purposes to allow our glaziers to ask questions and show off their skills. Desert Ridge Glass has several areas of our warehouse dedicated to training.
